Commuter bus services from EncinoEncino residents who drive to work out of habit may not know that LADOT’s excellent Commuter Express services would make their lives much easier. From the Encino Park & Ride at Magnolia and Hayvenhurst, you can catch a bus to Westwood and Century City (route 573) or Downtown (route 423) or LAX and El Segundo (route 574) or Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena (route 549). Click on any link to see the route, the days of service, fares and schedules.
An example: the 573 runs to Westwood and Century City on Monday-Friday and takes an average of 33 minutes, with stops on Gayley, Le Conte, Wilshire at Glendon, then goes on to Century City. Earliest bus leaves Encino right before 6AM, then approx. every 15 minutes till 8AM, then less and less frequently till around 10AM. In reverse the best time to catch the bus in Westwood is between 4PM and 6PM approx. Cash fares one way are $2.20 and a monthly pass is $70. These fares compare very favorably with other cities and any cost comparison with driving a car should be obvious – peace of mind for the equivalent of a tank or two of gas a month. |
